Viria strengthens its cyber security services by acquiring Ymon Ltd

Viria, a company specialised in corporate security and digital services, has acquired Ymon Ltd, a company that provides information security and data network services.

The acquisition strengthens Viria’ digital security business, in particular services related to the monitoring and reporting of information security and IT infrastructure.
“Our interest towards Ymon was awaken especially by its good reputation and competence in information security monitoring and response services. By combining our strengths, we will have excellent capabilities to address the constantly increasing demand for these services,” says Pertti Pikkarainen, Director of Digital Security, Executive Vice President at Viria.
“As part of a larger group, we will have more credibility and resources for our ongoing services to develop them even further. Together with Viria, we will have the opportunity to develop our proven solutions on a larger scale,” says Pasi Yliluoma, CEO of Ymon.
Founded in 2003, Ymon is an IT company that provides companies with consultation, development, maintenance and monitoring services as well as system solutions related to data networks and information security. The company employs nearly 20 people in Vantaa and Kajaani. Pasi Yliluoma, the company’s founder and former owner, will continue as the company’s CEO.
In addition to digital security and data network services, Viria’s security business comprises physical security services, such as camera surveillance, intrusion alarm and alarm centre services. “We provide companies with comprehensive security to protect against threats coming through the network and from the real world as well. With the advent of digitalisation, these already overlap to some extent and therefore need to be assessed as a comprehensive whole,” Pikkarainen points out.
