Samu Konttinen appointed CEO of Viria Group

Viria Board of Directors has appointed Samu Konttinen as new CEO of Viria Group. Mika Vihervuori, the previous CEO has resigned after leading Viria for seven years. Konttinen will begin as CEO on January 1, 2021, at the latest, and Vihervuori will continue in his present role until then.
Samu Konttinen has substantial experience from information technology and cyber security. He has made a great career in various leadership roles in F-Secure, most recently as the President and CEO from 2016. Konttinen is well acquainted with Viria, as he has been member of the Board of Directors from 2019.

He has led the company through eventful years and accomplished a complete transformation from a regional telecom operator to a national player in IT and security. At the same time, he has managed to maintain the profitability on planned level. Thanks to Mika and company’s good financial resources we are able to start next phase in Viria’s growth and development”, says Timo Kotilainen, Chairman of the Viria Board of Directors.
“In successor search we emphasized knowledge of the industry in which Viria is active, experience in leading an international, listed company and in acquisitions, as well as strong capability in strategy implementation. We were pleased to find a suitable person inside the Board. This will significantly speed up the timeline for CEO to familiarize himself with the company”, says Kotilainen.
